Older collectors may bemoan the state of UK children's comics today, with their content of features elbowing out the strips, but Look-In was using that same format thirty years ago. ReplyDeleteWhere on Earth do people find these? I didn't even know what a VCR was in the 70s, but saw my first one in 1980! How did anyone record this?
Mike Noble on Man from Atlantis, The Tomorrow People, Burns on the Bionic Woman and lots more. I'd love to see more complete reprints of the comic strips than the recent hardback "Look-in": The Best of the Seventies There were some really good art in Look-In!
There's a programme on BBC 4 tonight called "Washes Whiter" which looks back at tv advertising. Tonight's episode focuses on advertising to children so I'm hoping they MIGHT include some tv ads for comics.
