COMBAT COLIN IS BRICKMAN!
Brickman is dead and there's a NEW Brickman patrolling Guffon City, - ex-Marvel UK hero of the 1980s Combat Colin! The bobble-hatted bucaneer ditches the bobble hat for a black cowl and cape in Elephantmen No.20 on sale now from all comic shops that are smart enough to stock it!

My apologies for a lack of blogs of late. I'm currently undergoing hospital eye tests for a potentially serious problem so it's quite a worrying time and probably best to keep away from the computer except for work. Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly.
Hahaha! That's brilliant! (Not the eye thing, of course. Hope everything works out for you.)
ReplyDeleteHope your eyes get sorted..
ReplyDeleteVery important eyes..
I like the spoof which is based on Captain America when Bucky took over when he died!!
Hi Lew,
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with the test results, mate.
Hope everything works out and you are feeling okay soon.
Love the Combat Colin, Brickman idea.
You should have had us all guessing who the new Brickman would be under the cowl...

As I say I hope things are better for you soon.
Best,
Tim...

sorry to hear that lew, i'll keep my fingers crossed that your eyes will be ok ,keep ya chin up bud
ReplyDeleteI have my fingers crossed for you, Lew. Hope it turns out ok.
ReplyDeleteGood to see Combat Colin coming back. I hope that the tests come back okay and the eye problem gets sorted.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteI heard a story from a drunken Dave H that Combat Colin was based on a real person.
Or I could've dreamed the whole thing up ;)
Hope everything turns out for better Lew. Get Well Soon.
ReplyDeleteBy the way that Brickman changeover was real cute.... especially when the Batman is fighting for the next Batman in his place :)
Many thanks for all your kind thoughts mates. I've just been given the all clear for 12 months so that's a relief. There was a fear I had Glaucoma developing but my eye pressure is "borderline" so nothing to worry about as yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your messages. Will get the blog running again soon, although probably not as regularly as in previous years.
Good to hear about the all clear eye-wise. Watch your health!
ReplyDeleteHi Lew,
ReplyDeleteFantastic news, mate.
I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed for you.
Best,
Tim...

Only just caught up with the blog, I would say get well soon but it appears your well! which is brilliant news!
ReplyDeleteGood news on the eye results! Fingers crossed for the future :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad to hear that your eyes are OK, but please Lew, look after yourself! Have you been given eyedrops to help relieve the pressure?
ReplyDeleteNo Brad. Thankfully the Doctor was one of the wiser ones who don't prescribe eyedrops for borderline cases. Most research shows that the drops can have significant side effects, including dizziness, joint pain, and heart problems, - and even then there's no guarantee they stop Glaucoma. Also, such drops have to be taken every day for the rest of one's life. I'd rather use natural methods (healthy eating, exercise) to reduce the pressure before I gamble with putting chemicals in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you can do it the natural way, then that's always best. Keep well, m'friend...
ReplyDeletehello! i have just discovered brickman thanks to it came from darkmoor, (a spiffy blog about marvel UK) and bought the collection and enjoyed it immensley! i've missed out on the stuff in elephantmen :( but i'm pleased to hear about the return of combat colin :) hope your eyes are okay. mine are wonky too and it is rubbish.
ReplyDeleteI found the name "Commissioner Moron" far funnier than I should have.
ReplyDeleteClearly, I am a very simple-minded man.
