The Christmas issue of Toxic is out this week. As with many UK comics for children these days it's bagged with a number of gifts, including fake poo and a disc launcher. Here's the promotional art I did for the bag...
Toxic will be celebrating its 10th year in 2012. Quite an achievement considering how fickle and risky publishing can be in contemporary times. Publishers Egmont found that gross humour appealed to its readers and Toxic still sells around 40,000 copies an issue. Inside the actual magazine this week there's a number of seasonal Christmas strips including Team Toxic in a brand new festive story.
...plus a double-page winter spread I drew. Here's a small version of it. Buy the comic to see the A3 version.
The Christmas Toxic is available from tomorrow from all good newsagents, supermarkets, airports, etc. It's snot to be missed!

Ohhh no - Christmas issues out already. Prog 2012 is coming this week too. I'm feeling old and jaded - doesn't seem like two minutes since I was missing summer specials.
ReplyDeleteProbably ask the missus to pick this up though - Christmas comics are fun, even for old misers like me.
Nothing says Christmas like fake poo ...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 10 years. Ah, good old Egmont!
