I've just received the print proof copy of Combat Colin No.1 from the printers who have done a fantastic job on it and I'm very pleased. 40 fantastic pages reprinting all the Combat Colin strips from Action Force. This is the ONLY print copy in existence at the moment, sent for approval, so it's not available to buy yet, but hopefully the rest of the print run will be ready soon! More details as they happen!
Fantastic news, Lew.
ReplyDeleteSpookily, I was thinking about ACTION FORCE today and, of course, Colin followed close behind.
Loved, loved that strip back in the day.
Will definitely be buying this one!
Now, will you be doing a bookplate, signed, limited edition? :)
Ha! Well, the print run is limited to a few hundred (I'll do a second, third, print if it sells out) and I sign my comics before posting them so, yeah, kind of.
ReplyDeleteHooray!
ReplyDeleteI have them on my tablet, but much prefer physical comics. 10 year old me is ecstatic, and 40ish year old me is very pleased too!
That's good to hear, although I'm wondering how you have the strips on your tablet when I've never released them digitally. Or was it simply that you scanned them for your personal use? (I'm hoping no one is selling/sharing pirated Combat Colin collections or it's going to impact on my sales.)
ReplyDeleteLew, a quick peek online suggests there are scans of Action Force Weekly out there - which, presumably, have the Combat Colin strips included?
ReplyDeleteSorry, shoulda been clearer. They were scanned for personal use. Most of my comics live in the attic and are awkward to access on a whim, so I've scanned many of my favourite story lines / strips / Covers to enjoy more easily.I think I sent you a USB drive with some of the scans a while back, but haven't shared them with anyone else.
ReplyDeleteHi, Lew. Here is another fan who will be buying the book (would there be any chance you could sign my copy?).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, can't wait until it comes out on sale. :D
Yes, of course, Sid. Will be happy to.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tiniebras. I get a bit paranoid about piracy as so much of our stuff is out there illegally (as Karlos has pointed out). Thanks also for reminding me it was you who sent me that USB of my strips. I'll be using some of those in Combat Colin No.2 where I don't have some of the original art to scan, so wanted to give you a credit but I'd forgotten who send me the stick! If you could e-mail me with your real name I'll make sure you get a credit in issue 2.
Is it all going ot be in black and white? Can't wait to get these collected finally.
ReplyDeleteYes, all black and white, Rod. Recolouring it would take too long and push the price up so I think mono is the best option. Glad you're on board with it!
