Empress of Mars script writer Mark Gatiss tells us why he wanted to bring back the Ice Warriors in his new episode – but are they his all-time favourite Doctor Who monster?
“The Cybermen are my favourites and yet I’ve never written for them, but the Ice Warriors are among my favourites: a great monster,” Mark smiles. “I always loved the pride of them, their Viking qualities and the voice. 1. Here I was thinking that a sidearm included with your comic was a thing of the nostalgic past! ;-)

  2. I'm guessing you don't live in the UK, Robert? Free gifts like that are in comics all the time.

  3. The local WHS still puts the Paninis behind-the-till (grrr) but I did notice that issue 2 of DEADPOOL has retained the squarebound format adopted for issue 1. I wonder if this is an experiment to see whether it helps sales?

  4. Possibly. Personally I prefer stapled spines on comics to glued ones.
