  1. I wasn't for buying this because of expense, no matter how brilliant it looked... then I won their competition on FB this morning and have a model Lawgiver bike on the way! Maybe I'll try issue one.... lol.

  2. That sounds great, Phil! Congratulations.

Issue two is The Ballad of Halo Jones by Alan Moore and Ian Gibson. A real 2000AD classic.

  3. Oh, if only Halo Jones could have been the first issue (£1.99, eh?).

I haven't read Slaine so this'll be a good introduction for me at a great price.

  4. Halo Jones will be cheaper than the regular price too, but not as cheap as issue 1. After that, they're £9.99, which is still reasonable for a hardback graphic novel I think.

  5. Google Simon Bisley's artwork on the Horned God, ParryS - it's incredible. The story's a cracker too.

  6. I prefer linework to painted art so it was always material like Kev O'Neill's Nemesis that appealed to me, or Mick McMahon's Slaine, which I'm sure the book collection will get to eventually.

  7. I'm with you Lew. I still prefer linework rather than painted strips. One problem with Slain when it first came out was that it was too, too dark. But that was the fault of the printers and not the artist though.
