The Power Pack of Ken Reid - Great new incentive!

These are good times for fans of classic UK comics. So many books out there now reprinting fantastic strips from the past, and more to come! For me, the best ones so far are the two-volume set The Power Pack of Ken Reid, published by Irmantas Povilaika last year.

These luxurious hardback books reprint all the pages that Ken Reid did for Odhams in the 1960s; Frankie Stein, Jasper the Grasper, Queen of the Seas, Dare-A-Day Davy, and his stint on The Nervs. The peak of Ken's artistic and creative excellence, and the funniest comics you'll ever read.

The strips originally appeared in Wham!, Smash!, and Pow! between 1964 to 1969 and the books have excellent print quality and reproduction.

If you haven't already bought them, Irmantas now has a new special incentive for new readers! Free A4 prints of Ken Reid's original artwork!

Volume 1 comes with a complete episode of Frankie Stein in two halves...
Volume 2 comes with a complete episode of Dare-a-Day Davy in two halves. It's the episode that featured caricatures of writer Walter Thorburn and Ken himself!
Order both and you'll receive the books and prints plus two extra prints showing enlarged panels of Ken and Walter...
These really are top class books and deserve a place on bookshelves of anyone truly interested in comics, - or anyone who just enjoys a good laugh (and who doesn't?).

Irmantas is based in Lithuania, so make sure you place your order soon to receive them in time for Christmas! Order them from this link:

If you needed any more incentive, here's a few snapshots of the contents so you can see the high quality for yourselves...

I'll happily second that these are high-quality books, case-bound and well printed. Also, Irmantas is a very friendly and efficient chap, with the books arriving promptly and very safely packaged. Ken Reid, it hardly needs to be said, was a genius: both an excellent draughtsman and a hilarious story teller. His full-throttle application to "The Nervs", when he took over the feature in "Smash!" had this reader in tucks, even if it did earn Reid the reproach of his original publishers all those years ago. I can't recommend this highly enough.

My pleasure. The books deserve as much publicity as possible, Irmantas. Thanks for the prints!
