Brilliant news! I'm currently watching the last series one episode a week on iPlayer to count down to Christmas, hoping we were going to hear news like this. Jodie's Doctor brought me back to the show and I can't wait for more adventures in time and space (as they say) with this cast.
Yes, I'm very pleased it starts on New Year's Day. It wouldn't be right not to have some new Who for the festive season. Ten weeks, so that'll take us up to early March.
My experience of a new actor/actress/team taking over Doctor Who, the 2nd series tends to be better than the first so definitely looking forward to it.
