The Christmas VIZ is here!
The Christmas issue of Viz is out now with 52 festive pages plus a free 2013 calendar pull-out. Amongst the Christmas crackers are The Fat Slags, Drunken Bakers, Sid the Sexist, Aldridge Prior (He's a Hopeless Liar), and Paul Palmer drawing the brilliant Mormon Wisdom.
I have a couple of strips in there too: The Pathetic Sharks and Suicidal Syd.
This is the last issue that will be on sale this year (next one comes out 10th January) so pick it up for a seasonal stocking stuffer. Viz No.221, £3.20.

Viz: Annual and new issue previews
This year's Viz annual, The Billposter's Bucket, will be in bookstores soon. Once again it's a nice thick 160 page hardback, just like comic annuals used to be. It has a nice busy cover by Simon Thorp featuring numerous characters, evoking memories of the sort of thing that Wham! Annual and the like used to do many moons ago.
Inside, the pages are packed with choice strips and satirical features from issues 192 to 201 with contributions from Graham Dury, Davey Jones, Christina Martin, Alex Collier, Lee Healey, Barney Farmer, Paul Palmer, myself and many others. (My contribution is a Pathetic Sharks page from Christmas 2010 if you were wondering.)
The new issue of Viz (No.219) will also be hitting the shelves any day now. Under an eye-catching cover by Simon Thorp (who also does The Pathetic Sharks strip this issue) the contents include Drunken Bakers, The Fat Slags, Angela's Merkin, 8 Ace, and much more.
My contribution this issue is the revival of Unlucky Frank (Lucky Frank's unlucky twin brother). And for the benefit of those who say today's comics only feature a few panels per page (and quite often they're right), Unlucky Frank has 12 panels in a half page. Do I spoil you or what?
Viz: The Billposter's Bucket has a R.R.P. of £10.99
Viz No.219 is priced at £3.20

Shaaaaarrrrks!!
The Pathetic Sharks make their return to Viz today with a new full page, 19-panel strip in the latest issue. Here's a preview of my work above.
Also in this 52 page issue are The Fat Slags enjoying the hot summer (remember summer?), Jack Black and the Case of the Lord Mayor's Chain, Led Zeppelin and the Land that Time Forgot, Tinribs, Biffa Bacon, and much more.
Viz No.217. £3.20 from your local papershop or out of town supermarket. You'll find it on the top shelf. If you can't reach it, ask a kid to climb up and get it for you.

Blog posts are likely to be infrequent and/or brief for a while as I have a lot of work on over the next couple of weeks. Finishing off my new six-part series for The Dandy (more news on that soon), four pages for the next Toxic, and a page for the next issue of Viz. It's all go! Hope it stays that way.

Contributors include Simon Thorp (once again providing an excellent cover), Graham Dury, Christina Martin and James MacDougall, Paul Palmer, Barney Farmer and Lee Healey and many more. There's also a couple of pages by me featuring Felix and his Amazing Underpants...
