I remember Marvel UK's Transformers making a big deal on the cover about an extra 4 or 8 pages, never mind 20! Quite surprised they don't have that plastered above the masthead instead of "Future Visions".

The extra pages in the M-UK weeklies were sometimes purely to accomodate additional advertising. So it was just a way of ensuring readers got the same number of 'editorial pages' that week.
