Subscription copy dropped through my letterbox this morning and the wife commented that she thought it was the best Christmas cover she's seen in years - or at least the Pagan equivalent. Some snow on the logo would have been nice but I can appreciate why it wouldn't have worked. The white logo on a white background means nothing detracts from the stunning figures.
Wraps up what has been a great year for 2000AD. OK, maybe not quite as good as 1982 / 83 - but then, these days, what is?
Afraid I didn't stick to my New Year resolution to read every prog on Saturday morning like I used to, so I was surprised to see Indigo Prime has already ended. Still it means I can dig out the back progs and spend a day catching up over the Yule season (assuming I ever get on top of my current workload).
Looking forward to the actual year end edition next week. Ro-busters, Savage and Bad Company in the line-up sounds like another vintage year.
This isn't the Christmas issue, Tony. As I said, that'll be the one that follows; a bumper sized issue as usual.

Thinking of dumping the prog after this issue. It's been a pretty dull read for a while now and not even Dredd is carrying the prog anymore. The artwork is its only saving grace but you can't enjoy comics by art alone. Maybe Tharg's overdue a shedding? A thicker skin might be needed to tell the Mills droid, for example, not to spread one 10 part story over 5 long books. Or to tell the various Dredd writers to somehow work together to create 1 Dredd world instead of the splintered worlds we have now.
There's a bunch of new stories starting in the next issue so they might be more to your taste? See my preview next Saturday.
I think this might be the Christmas issue you know Lew. New stories usually start in the big new year issue so this would be why it has its festive looking winter cover.
I agree with Tony: it may not be the actual Christmas issue but they've got the tree ready.
