Looks like a typo on that annuals advert - surely Jag's annual was 160 pages like the Tiger, Hurricane, and Roy of the Rovers annuals were, not 150 pages?
I also notice it doesn't mention any story titles for Hurricane - I guess that's because Tiger readers wouldn't recognise any of them, because they'd all stopped appearing in Tiger by that point?
Yeah, just a typo.
Skid Solo originated from Hurricane and he was still in Tiger so it's strange it didn't mention him. Then again, those ads were just knocked out quickly so perhaps it didn't occur to whoever wrote them.
I didn't get the Tiger until the 80's, when I was lured by Death Wish on the cover. It was still on good quality paper, as was ROTR who'd had his own comic for a considerable time by then.
I think Tiger was the management's favourite at IPC so it had better paper for years. In the end though, declining sales put it back to cheap newsprint. I liked the comic. It was a comfortable read.
