Rapture of The Dandy

The time draws ever closer. Tomorrow, on its 75th anniversary, The Dandy dies as a paper comic, shedding its physical form to ascend to cyberspace as a digital weekly. This morning there was an announcement in London to the press and you'll be reading more about that in the media this week no doubt. Sadly, although invited, I couldn't make it to the press conference. I was in London yesterday as a guest at the Comic Mart (see the Down the Tubes report here) but it's back to work today!

Postman Prat hasn't delivered my copy of the final issue yet so no review from me, but here's a glimpse at just one fraction of a panel from a strip of mine in the 100 page last edition.

The big, final Dandy does on sale tomorrow, priced £3.99. A reader kindly let me have a quick look at his subscription copy yesterday and the comic is certainly going out in style! Don't miss it!

Came through the door today. A lot of old favourates there. I wont say anything as this might spoil it for others, other than there's a good mixture of old and new. Im not sure whether previous artwork has been used or current artists have ghosted styles on the older charecters.

I think the last Dandy was out last week because tomorrow the first digital edition is out.

The digital edition begins on the day the paper edition ends, Anon, which is tomorrow.

I was also invited - but sadly I'm a bit far away!

At the time of writing this we have just over 5 hours to wait until the digital-Dandy is released!

£3.99? But I paid £5.49 online... Guessing that's the postage fee. Fair enough.

Yeah, £1.50 sounds about right for postage. It's heavier than usual.
