New ABSALOM collection coming from Rebellion

Published next week is Absalom: Under a False Flag, a collection of the supernatural detective thriller that ran in 2000AD. Even if the story wasn't compelling enough (which it is) the book would be worth buying just for the artwork alone. Gordon Rennie is the writer, and the fantastic Tiernen Trevallion is the artist. A worthy addition to your bookcase.

Here's the P.R. along with a preview of the first three pages...

OLD, IRREVERENT AND DOOMED BY SUPERNATURAL FORCES, hard-nosed copper Detective Inspector Harry Absalom is tasked with upholding the Accord – the treaty between the British Royalty and the forces of Hell. A religious fanatic is killing illegal demonic hosts, upsetting both sides of the Accord. To prevent all-out war, Absalom and his psychotic ex-boss the Guv’nor need to catch the perpetrator before it’s too late! With his grandchildren held hostage to keep him in line, Harry will need all the help he can get his hands on! Especially when he discovers the sort of place they’re being kept. This is the second collection in Gordon Rennie and Tiernen Trevallion’s fan favourite Absalom series.

Available in print from: book stores, Amazon, and comic book stores via Diamond

interesting..

just a note though pointless.. I live not to far away from Crowley's old place ^_^ technically it's just outside of Hastings but things are pretty blurred and really, a sub-district of Hastings now. Most locals don't seam to know or care much about the place... and it was Boarding house more then Guest house.. notable difference ^_^ but that's no problem with the writing. Human error.. I kinda hate it when people point out mistakes which aren't errors so much as humans aren't perfect and say things like 'about 1952' even when something was 1953. not an mistake as human error

For my money, Absalom's the best strip 2000AD has had in years, and there's been some very stiff competition, especially from Scarlett Traces. Of course, I'm a sucker (no pun intended) for Lovecraft-type stories, and the gorgeous Mike Mignola-esque art doesn't hurt one bit either!
